I can not believe how long it's been again, since my last post my grandson turned 4, I've had 2 daycare children who have had birthdays, our neice got married and my mother continues to have episodes of falling. My good friend just lost her mother, it was something to put things in perspective for me. Life is getting shorter and shorter, I better get things done!! Not that I haven't been busy, I have, just some things I would like to finish and do some others. I now need to really start concentrating on doing them. One is I want to try to do better at this....we will see. Pictures on here will follow

Birthdays
We celebrated the two baby boys birthdays at day care, hard to believe they are a year old already. I guess with all that has happened in my life this year they have turned one before I knew it or actually was ready for that mentally. I still love having my home full of little bodies, I never get my fill of babies, I don't know what it is. Now the one year olds are discovering so much every day, it's fun to watch and help them learn. The older ones are learning their independence and have found their vocal cords. Oh yeah!! Can we learn indoor voices, ha, ha. Thank God it's summer!

Hello to all,
Time has passed again...and where has it gone, well I can tell you....many, many Dr's appointments, several family birthdays, getting the yard ready for summer.....besides the normal everyday living that needs to take place on top of them. Hopefully by the time Mother's day rolls around, it will slow down a bit....but we all know that's probably more of a day dream of mine than reality.
Saturday Eric, Brad, Jess and Braxton came to put out the summer furniture for us and scrub the "playground toys". Jess, Braxton and I planted the flowers that go in the many pots and baskets. Grandpa was up at 5:30 am smoking pork butts for his wonderful pulled pork sandwiches for our dinner and needless to say everyone kept him running for things all day long. My mom made her fabulous potato salad, I made deserts and filled in with the rest. Eric went and picked up Bekki so she could join us for dinner....we all had a great time.
I wish all the Mothers a Happy Mother's day and everyone a joyful summer!!!!

Oh my, been almost a month, what have I been doing? Well visiting Mom, doing her laundry, returning it to her, taking her to appointments, fielding all the phone calls from the rehab center and the family, getting her room ready, dealing with Eric and his things on top of it, plus trying to find time to live our own life in there too. They say there is no rest for the wicked.... and I guess I have been very, very wicked.
The good news is Mom is due to be released next week, if all goes well. She seemed to like her new main floor room. Eric seems to be on the right track and we give him all the love and support that he will need in the coming months. Spring is around the corner, it's time for a new season, I'm ready!!!!

Blog design
Trying my hand at blog design using the free templates that are available. Thanks to Gretchen and her family blog that I found the idea on it, I thought I would give it a try. Now mind you, I have only a smidgen of Irish in me, I still love the background, so I went with it. Hopefully we will get a little of that Irish luck our way, as we could sure use it these days. On top of everything else going on in our lives, every time my mom uses the washer a stream of water goes from under it, across to the drain. Figure that out! And we think our tv is going everyday when I turn it on, I never know if the picture will stop what ever it seems to be doing lately.
They finally came and installed the new glass in our windows, only been waiting since Nov. (was hoping for the tax deduct.) , but can't help the nasty weather we have had. The dining room picture window is great we can now get a clear view across the street, oh maybe we didn't care to. But clear glass is nice we just need to look at our yard and the cars that go by no farther. The family room windows, all 5 were replaced, they were really bad. Terrific view of the backyard now, no cloudy days in the family room ever again. Although due to the southern exposure they are tinted with low-e.
Braxton came by for a quick play date, mom and dad had their tax appt tonite. So we played with the trains, checked out some of the daycare toys, read some books, watched parts of a couple videos and ate 2 different dinners. And of course had to have some treats. Then Mom and Dad came back, they had stopped for a quick dinner (with out Braxton). Something they don't get to do much of lately due to Mom working 7 days. Then they went home, but not before he had to borrow a video to take home. His thing is ooooooooh grandma, pleeeeeeese grandma. How do you refuse that, with those big beautiful begging eyes he has.

Tax time....no matter how organized I thought I was.....I never am!! This week's glitch is, the form I use is not printing out right. Am I going to have to have a major computer overhaul or is it minor? Will I be able to get a year's worth of receipts figured out now, without my computer. I am so lost!
May have had my first indication last night that something actually did happen when I had "surgery". After walking in the cold to the hockey game I had some prickly, tingling under my forehead skin, very strange sensation and lasted for what seemed for ever and then going back to the car, it happened again. I did expect it would probably be in my lower jaw line down the road, if it happened at all.
Brad's truck fixed and on the road again, oops had to go back for a minor repair, all better now. Yes, he's very happy....he better be!!! Eric's picture is looking as good as it can be. He is driving his big red truck now, which of course uses more gas than his little car... his only saving grace is gas is not $4 a gal. now. He needs to do what his Dad does and only live less than 4 miles from work versus probably 40.

Well the weekend is coming to a close, I was suppose to be resting and I did, after the last week I was due. I figured out after 7 months how to download pictures off my new camera, just a little slow or lack of time to actually sit and do it..... so that took a chunk of time to file and organize them the way I wanted. Eric seems to be doing better, Brads truck is fixed and back on the road, Jess' blazer has heat again, I have no drs appt. next week the world is good for the moment. Stay tuned....it never lasts.

Well the week is over, thank God. Started out with my oldest son having a rollover accident sat night, bump on his head and a bruise on his arm he's ok. for the most part. My youngest is waiting for his brother to put a new motor in his truck for him that went out the week before, only to have his wife's car heater go out. Mom, dad can you help me out, oh sure. On Mon my MRI had to be repeated they failed to tell me only part of it, so all weekend I stressed about having to be in there for 2 hours again, on top of everything else.
So that brings us to Thur. which means I had my Cyberknife "surgery". It was interesting to say the least, I laid there for 1 and 1/2 hours with a mesh mask on my face bolted to the table, while a robotic arm moved around my face. I felt nothing and seen nothing, started to get a sore back from laying there so long and at the end needed to go to the bathroom. The doctor did say it would take awhile for the treatment to be effective, it was more of a laser type radiation called stereotactic radiosurgery. Anyone familiar with radiation knows it doesn't work overnight. I will still have follow ups in Ann Arbor, I hate having to go there, I hate having to take time off, but I was really hating the alternatives worse. So we will keep positive.
Afterward with my mesh impressioned face my loving husband treated me by taking me out to lunch. The place wasn't very busy, amazing things always work out. Decided I love the Grand Traverse Pie Company in Ann Arbor, the food was very good and the fireplace was cozy. The Grilled Chicken Focaccia was delicious and the brownie was fabulous. We brought home an apple pie and we all just loved it.
I'm hoping for a quiet, restful weekend. Would like to finish decorating for Valentines Day, which will be here before I know it.

As you can see it's been a while since I have been back to this blog. I did go on vacation, Tom and I had a GREAT time in Las Vegas. We had a condo with a million dollar view, as I like to call it. Had a nice visit and dinner with our good friends while we were there. And ask Tom, the gambling was fruitful. A week after we came home it was Christmas, and it was a busy one as usual. It is my favorite time of year, love having the family all home together. Braxton seemed to enjoy opening his gifts this year, the excitment was definately there.
Eric and Brad was here today, they worked at getting the snow and ice off the roof. We are having major ice dams, so it should help, somewhat....depending on the thaw cycle. They had the hard work while I played trains, cars, watched movies, conversed and filled my grandson up with any and all the snacks he wanted. Yes, the light of my life was here, BRAXTON.
Monday I go to have a consultation for treatment (cyberknife surgery) for my jaw pain (trigeminal neuralgia) that I have been living with for years (23). I am hopeful that this is going to give me some relief from the pain and get me off some of the medications that are not doing my body any good. Treatment, if all goes well will be the end of the month.
Wishing you all well and take care of each other,
Pat
